Sosta Ristorante

Formerly the much-beloved restaurant known as Sosta Cucina, Sosta Ristorante has picked up the baton as the original team bid farewell. In the process, they've put their own spin on one of North Melbourne's most treasured institutions.

What's changed? A new focus on authentic Italian cooking methods and traditions uses Australia's native ingredients to extraordinary effect. Alongside a new food direction is the welcome addition of a perfectly curated wine list that is bound to take your dining experience to the upper echelons of culinary pleasure.

The menu is designed to remind of you of lush, summery plates that are made to bring positivity and warmth. The antipasti serve small and tasty portions with the likes of kangaroo carpaccio - a real Australian specialty - creamy buffalo stracciatella and stuffed zucchini flowers.

Moving on and pasta forms the second course with squid ink spaghetti, potato gnocchi and conchiglie topped with a seafood ragu. The mains then delve into beautiful pieces of meat and fish that are paired with intricate sides such as balsamic orange, fermented cantaloupe and pickled tomatoes. Counteract the tartness with a final course of gelati and toast a revival of North Melbourne's culinary treasure.
