Their Crows Nest branch is easy-going and informal with an uncluttered bistro that enjoys notes of rustic warmth through its wine cabinets, homey bar and pizza oven out back. If the weather is playing ball, you can watch the masters at work and even steal a few tips if you're attentive enough!
Make sure to take a good ten or fifteen minutes to peruse the menu; it's extensive, to say the least with over 20 options for both pizza and pasta. Let's start with the woodfired pizzas which are topped with anything from creamy burrata, prosciutto and hot salami to spinach, tiger prawns, grilled chicken, and an assortment of seafood. They also have more experimental options that take on the flavours of tandoori chicken, peri peri, and smoky BBQ.
As for pasta, the possibilities are endless. On the same menu, you can find traditional lasagne, goat ragu pappardelle, pumpkin gnocchi, spaghetti marinara, rigatoni napolitana and more. Add to that four different types of risotto, as well as specialist chicken, and veal making the decision just gets harder and harder. If the decision does take longer than expected, you can always stave off your rumbling tummy with some garlic prawns, polpette, or an antipasto plate. At Farina, there is food for every mood.
