And their rustic and elegant space couldn't be a better place to reunite over stunning food and nearby culture. Both sophisticated and urban at the same time, the whitewashed brick walls give the impression that you're dining in a gigantic wine cellar whilst the modern wine cabinets all around add to the illusion. At the same time, intimate notes from the European bistro afford it plenty of charm and warmth.
The menu seeks to celebrate Australia and its native produce. Constantly evolving with the seasons, thanks to Chef Jordan Garcia, Annata has something new each time you pay them a visit. In true form, the Autumn menu is serving up some showstoppers with the likes of coral trout bouillabaisse which is earthy and soulful, BBQ pork neck that simply melts on the tongue, and wagyu beef cheek that is given all the respect it deserves with smoked potatoes and a Szechuan mushroom sauce.
As for even larger plates, you are invited to share exclusive ingredients that are bound to take your breath away. The Glacier 51 toothfish embodies culinary luxury in a simple butter sauce whilst the Cape Grim grass-fed scotch fillet is given an understated spritz of lemon to allow the meat to do all the talking. And seeing as you're surrounded by wine, take your pick of the gleaming bottles and enjoy Annata with the indulgence that is at its heart.
