It might be called The Reverie Cat Vietnamese, but this restaurant is very much living in the here and now with some tasty modern Vietnamese eats that always pack a fresh, vibrant & herbaceous punch.
Inside, diners are encouraged to kick back in the warm and inviting dining room bathed in natural light. Or on warmer nights, dine outdoors and soak in the busy Darling street vibes and enjoy the hubbub that surrounds this charming eatery right down to the toe-tapping 70s-90s playlist reverberating from the inside dining room.
For dinner, you can expect twists on contemporary Vietnamese plates that boast the same incredible flavour as they do in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh. Let's start with Vietnam's most iconic dish, pho, a warm and comforting noodle broth that can be accompanied by beef, chicken or vegetables. They're particularly special if you add on some blue cheese wontons with spiced berry dipping sauce, some fresh, crispy tofu fingers or you indulge in some Tasmanian Huon farm fresh salmon parcels. There's also a great selection of Vegan options across the board, so plant-based foodies are well looked after.
Other than that, the mains include Hanoi-style sizzling barramundi, fresh from HumptyDoo Farm in the Northern Territory, the most tender spice braised beef, a range of seafood, meat and vegan curries and even a couple of open pancakes thrown into the mix for anyone who's looking for a flipping good time. Add on a Vietnamese-inspired cocktail or locally curated sustainable practice wine recommended by their award-winning sommelier, and enjoy fresh and herbaceous soul food in a quirky and familiar setting. The Reverie Cat is pawsome in every imaginable way. No BYO.
