Immersing diners into the colourful spirit of Bangkok, it's hard to believe that Viand actually calls Woolloomooloo home.

Just like Bangkok, Viand is a sensual feast at every turn. The exposed kitchen, made from gleaming stainless steel, is the beating heart of this restaurant; multiple woks bubble merrily against the back walls whilst the peach-coloured walls, cherry-red mosaic counters and warm woods ground this restaurant very much in our vision of the Orient. It's a hive of activity from noon to night!

When it comes to food, however, Viand goes down a slightly different road. With Annita Potter at the helm who worked globally alongside David Thompson, and was recently awarded the Good Food's 2023 Oceania Cruises Chef of the Year, you are in very safe hands. On the Chef's Tasting Menu one can find bold flavours that are equally unexpected and exciting, giving way to gurnard dumplings floating in a heavenly mushroom broth, minced quail paired with ginger snake beans, and king dory fish deep fried for the ultimate crispy mouthful.

Leaders in contemporary Thai cooking, Viand is one for the bucket list in Sydney.
