Overview
What could be more romantic than modern Australian food, eaten on the white sand of Cottesloe beach?
The unique building was constructed in 1910 as an ice cream parlour and in the 1920s it hosted balls on its rolling lawns. Plenty of this historic glamour remains today, with snowy white tablecloths fluttering in the sea breezes and an extensive champagne menu.
The kitchen’s philosophy of ‘less is more’ allows the best of Western Australia’s natural larder to shine through. Expect plenty of fresh seafood, charcuterie-style items, wood-fired delicacies and small plates, as well as mouthwatering comfort dishes, such as burgers.
Panfried salmon with green peas and bacon is deliciously fresh, although it’s hard to beat gnocchi with sprouts, parmesan and hazelnuts. And nothing says ‘holiday’ like fresh mussels with crusty sourdough.
When it comes to drinks, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Enjoy refreshing cocktails such as a gin and grapefruit spritz followed by a delicious taste of Australian wine. The menu has an excellent geographical spread, so you’re sure to find something new to try as well as plenty of old favourites.
