The Cairns Colonial Club’s newly refurbished poolside bar and restaurant is so relaxed it’s practically horizontal. Chilled music and plenty of sun loungers make this the perfect spot for soaking up some sun while tippling on killer cocktails, as well as indulging in mouthwatering cuisine served with a smile.

Start with a selection of sharing plates that can be enjoyed by the whole table before moving on to crowd-pleasers such as burgers, battered barramundi, handmade gnocchi with puttanesca sauce and steak served in onion jus. There is also a dedicated kids' menu for flamingo chicks.

Feeling a little sluggish after all that relaxing? Indulge in a chocolate espresso martini, or keep things classic with a selection of Australian wines and premium spirits.
