Sault Cafe

Modern European cooking has landed in Hobart in the form of Sault Café, aka your new hangout.

Located in Moonah Central, it's a relaxed eatery that serves well for a post-work catch-up. It takes a no-frills approach to its food and décor, making it a straight-up, honest establishment that serves food that warms as well as comforts.

Sault is a perfectionist in 'less is more'. On the menu is a grand total of four dishes which are... (drum-roll please)… baked eggs with loads of yummy sides like buttery mushrooms, chorizo, spinach and sourdough toast. Next is the calamari with chips and salad, the fish of the day and the 12 hours braised lamb, complete with flatbread and tzatziki.

Then for pudding, it's all about the waffles! Choose from valentine or matcha waffles or get your cake on with the walnut brownie or raspberry cheesecake. If you're still on that sugar high, get one of their mammoth milkshakes in that will inevitably take pride and place on your Instagram feed.
