Your visit to this magical venue starts when you enter a secret door concealed behind a fridge in a bodega-style deli on street level. As you descend the stairs you’ll not only travel to this stylish basement bar but journey back to a time when classic cocktails were king and service was second to none.

Inside, ornate vintage furnishings complement hand-carved sandstone blocks and reclaimed timber beams. Elegant marble benchtops add a sense of extravagance to the room, and warm pendant lights create an ambience fit for an intimate date night or a gathering with friends, as well as showcasing the array of spirits in the back bar.

And what an array it is. There are more than 250 whiskies on offer, as well as natural wine and craft beer. The Cumberland’s cocktail menu features prohibition classics, drinks inspired by Sydney and its surrounds, and even a selection of beverages featuring locally foraged and found ingredients.
