Celebrating one of the most ancient forms of authentic Japanese dining, Kaya Izakaya is the real deal when it comes to an immersive Japanese dining experience.
If you're not already familiar with the Izakaya form of dining, it creates a wonderfully communal atmosphere with round-the-bar dining, as well as informal bistro tables. The décor leans into the futuristic, gaming world of Akihabara in Tokyo with graphic wall art that transports you to the big lights of the sparkling capital.
One of the best things about Japanese cuisine is that it's perfect for sharing. Izakaya-style eats include tuna sashimi tacos, agedashi eggplant and the beloved takoyaki balls covered in takoyaki sauce and bonito flakes. This is a delicious mixture of street food and popular nibbles to get the appetite roaring.
Next up are the sushi and sashimi which really lean into the classic offerings of salmon, kingfish and tuna. Its the Kaya hand rolls, however, where they get really creative. Presented in wooden holders and served with contemporary flare, have your open roll filled with spicy salmon, tofu, grilled eel or panko prawns. Simple yet faultless Japanese eats, Kaya Izakaya is one for those who want great food without the frills.
