We don't normally think of the Mexican and Japanese cuisines as a match made in heaven. Dos Manos is out there to prove us wrong. And we're convinced.
This innovative pairing is presented at their Izakaya-style restaurant. Where diners are invited to sit at the bar that surrounds the talented chefs at work, Dos Manos offers a completely immersive dining experience that puts you in the heart of the action. Simple information and beaming in optimistic shades of yellow, orange and white, it's refreshing and zesty. Just like their food for that matter.
To begin, the cuisines meet in the cosy surroundings of a taco shell. With fillings ranging from cod tempura, adobo pork, katsu chicken and braised short rib, this is fusion food at its best. Laced with the moreish jalapeno aioli, guacamole and pickles, these tacos pack plenty of punch. From the Japanese corner comes tempura prawns with spicy Dos Manos sauce, seared wagyu beef with crispy enoki mushrooms and yellowfin tuna with yazu-shisho soy and creamy avocado.
Add on some sharing plates and make it a feast to remember, Fill the table with some Hamakua chicken wings, spicy tuna and rice cakes or some crunchy edamame beans. An unlikely pairing, the far-flung cuisines meet with aplomb at Dos Manos; you simply have to taste it to believe it.
