A relaxed restaurant that specialises in native ingredients, floating in a glass pavilion on the River Torrens. With snacks, entrees, mains and desserts, it's the perfect menu to graze your way through with multiple courses sampling some of Australia's finest native produce and ingredients.
Located above their sibling restaurant the River Cafè, Red Ochre has been an Adelaide favourite for more than 20 years, and a recent refurbishment has left it looking sleeker than ever. Artworks that celebrate Australian bush life by David Bromley contrast with smart charcoal paintwork and textural statement walls.
Every meal here is a true taste of Australia at its most wild, with a focus on ingredients such as desert lime, quandongs and Davidson plums.
Menus include South Australian seafood, wood-fired steaks and wholesome meaty mains. Don’t miss their 120 days grain-fed porterhouse and kangaroo fillet, with wood-fired beets, cauliflower, quandong and native zaatar.
The indigenous theme extends to the cocktail list which is informed by foraged botanicals and showcases an excellent selection of local craft spirits.
For a memorable meal firmly rooted in Australia, look no further.
